About us

We can enhance your strategy, build a website, integrate back-end systems and business processes, devise and deliver e-marketing and online advertising campaigns. Are you seeking digital deliverance? Stop looking. Tell us the challenge and we'll deliver a superb solution.

Our mother ship, Oculus Design & Communications, has delivered a superb cross-section of marketing communications services to both private and public sector clients large and small since 1992. Many of these projects have been digitally based, so we thought it high time we launched a dedicated division.

The digital sector has become confusing: lots of jargon, lots of repetition and way too much irrelevance. We have a no-nonsense approach. We've been doing this since the web started, which means our knowledge and understanding of how to solve digital problems are, to be frank, extremely good. We really do set out to demystify the ‘black art’ stuff and provide clear insights.

Capabilities

We are focused on four core areas of digital delivery, covered below. All digital projects we take on are incorporated into our web development methodology. This ensures consistency of design and build, delivery and performance, and importantly for our clients – measurability of our joint success.

Our services

Strategic consulting

Planning is vital to digital projects. We never begin designing or building websites and e-mailers without first carefully considering our client, their customers or audience, branding, technical parameters, the sector and business model in question, competitors, and much more.

All of this helps us build the bigger and crucial picture of requirements. This stage also allows us to consider integration into back-end systems and processes, which adds huge value to otherwise stand-alone websites and online campaigns.

  • Digital strategies, site audits and benchmarking
  • Digital brand management
  • Business case and ROI metrics
  • Usability and accessibility
  • Technical considerations/advice
  • SEO, analytics, e-commerce, hosting

Web and iPhone/iPad/Android app design and development

From 4 pages to 4000, static or dynamic, creating striking and compelling websites is where Oculus Digital excels. We balance style, content, accessibility standards and usability skills to deliver sites that fulfil your web strategy.

Websites need constant attention – we don't believe websites should be one-off projects, but rather a marketing channel or information resource that should be regularly added to and improved. Two of our recently built websites are way ahead of their peers according to the Google Benchmarking service – that's the kind of ROI we love – and proof we've got it right.

Both of these sites use Kentico our preferred CMS of choice – we are a Gold Partner and have just become the first Kentico Certified Training Partner on mainland UK. We also won the 2009 global award for 'Best Education Site' for www.lotc.org.uk

Rich internet applications

Rich internet applications (RIAs) provide an increased level of interactivity, similar to traditional desktop software. RIAs deliver a more engaging user experience both over the web and via desktops.

This is achieved through technologies such as JavaScript, AJAX and Flash aligned with content creation via video production and 3D animation.

  • Creative, graphic design and production
  • 3D animation (Flash/AfterEffects)
  • Video production and editing
  • Interactive presentations and CD-ROMs, demos and showreels
