5 Developer and 9 Administrator courses down. How has my training changed?
Since Oculus Digital became a Certified Kentico Training Partner in May 2010, I have delivered 9 Content Administrator courses and 5 Developer courses, which have been a mixture of on customer sites and at our office based in Reading.
The Kentico CMS Developer training course is naturally much more interesting to deliver as you never know what questions of issues you could be asked, and requires some quick thinking and also potentially some research in the evening.
My typical 3-day developer training course consists of going through the Kentico supplied slides and documentation in about 2 days, followed by 2 modules that I've written to deliver to delegates and then a half-day hands-on session of developing a mini-site from scratch using all the techniques that were taught over the past 2 days.
In this session I givea brief along with a couple of html pages with associated css and imagery. This enables delegates to cover the the topics, and of course if they have any issues, I am on hand to help.
For every training course, I take the Kentico Developer posters, that I've blown up to A1 and we get up and stand around the posters and discuss the various elements are very important to understand when developing a new Kentico site. You can get the posters from the Kentico site, but for ease the links are below:
